South Bight
https://www.geonames.org/4045821/south-bight.html

Reference is made here at 4:15 PM to "Bight Cove" on Amchitka Island:
https://catalog.archives.gov/OpaAPI/med ... 4_0086.JPG
I have been unable to find Bight Cove on any maps, but based on log entries, South Bight is at the right location.

The Long Blue Line: Station Nome—saving lives near the top of the world!

Image
Part of a panoramic photograph of Nome, with the small white Nome Boat Station located in the center. Note the proximity of the boathouse to the open beach and the degree of exposure to high seas.

There seem to have been more lighthouses in Alaska than those currently listed. Here are some I've tracked down in old literature.
Cape Sarichef Light was at Lat 54º 36’ 00”, Long -163º 21’ 36”

There was a Cape Kabuch Light at Lat 54º 49’ 00”, Long -163º 21’ 36”

Both are referenced in
https://iphc.int/uploads/pdf/regs/IPHC-1964-REGS.pdf

There is also a historic lighthouse at Cape Pankof at Lat 54º 40’, Long -163º 04’.

All added to db! Thanks! Will appear soon on reference thread

Both Cape Pankof and Cape Kabuch Lights are visible on this 1926 map: https://www.historicalcharts.noaa.gov/i ... 701-5-1926

Cape Kabuch one was later moved back (see this 1949 map - both are still shown : https://www.historicalcharts.noaa.gov/i ... 701-6-1949) in the position where a light, called Isanotski Strait Light 2, is still in use nowadays (see https://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.c ... /-163.2612).

Cape Pankof one is no more existing and even on bing satellite imagery (Google one is very blurry for this area) no remains can be seen on the point it was on

Pioneer cites it in 1925

There still is!
https://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.c ... /-131.4194

Added to geonames (it's visible in satellite imagery when zooming enough - found no images on the internet) and to our database.
Thanks studentforever!
