Looking at https://catalog.archives.gov/OpaAPI/med ... 7-0016.JPG, maybe it is 02 as in two degrees.

Using degrees for the course became standard in the early to mid 1900's.
For example, see USS Charleston 1937

Wind direction generally didn't change to degrees till the mid 1900's.
For example, see USS Burton Island 1947

July done. Seemed to spend a lot of time transporting human beans from A to B.

This is the last one I will do for some time, as I am going on vacation to Bavaria for a week starting tomorrow.
During this time, I will access the forum, but not do any transcribing.

A place called Kreuth, close to the border with Austria. Has very nice mountains, woods and restaurants.

September done. A good deal of time on the sea, with lots of locations and course changes.

November and December uploaded and complete (I did most of the former on the weekend, and the latter was almost all in port)

That's it for this year, and for my time on the Haida, as Gordon is doing the one remaining year.
I will go for the McCulloch next.
