Importing Avatar

I tried copying my avatar from the old forum by saving it onto my PC and then loading it on here. Unfortunately it looks like its too big. I think it said upto 6Kb(?) on here and the file I've got is 66Kb. Anyone else having issues or found a better way to do this?

I had the same problem.
I used a graphics editor to rescale the image to a smaller size in pixels.
With some trail and error I managed to save it with a size below 6 kB, by then the avatar was only 89 x 56 pixels.

Jil - I downloaded your avatar to my machine and then uploaded it.
On my computer it is only 4kb
You do need to click the Submit button to get it to update. I initially got stuck on that.

I have no idea why you download it and get a 66kb file and I download it and get a 4kb file
