Education and Outreach

Most of the O opportunities we had over the years are referred from Old Weather, and some are brilliant (like Andrew's Icebound: https://www.reuters.com/investigates/sp ... -shiplogs/). The contributions here by OWers really adds to the stories that media outlets are able to tell about OW. There will be more coming around bend, perhaps including a multi-segment production on a well-know cable network.

The E part has been more difficult, though through our partnership with the National Archives Foundation and DocsTeach we are making some progress there, and which will start to be made public in June. An exciting development is that the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps (https://www.seacadets.org/) has reached out to us about helping us develop some curriculum material based on OW subjects -- weather of course, but also history, navigation, modeling / reanalysis -- that would be suitable for their 13-17 age group. This looks like an exciting opportunity all around.

I'll keep everyone informed of progress in these areas, and I expect there may be some additional calls on the accumulated expertise of OW.
