Transcriber Weather

Post by Randi »

Shesswin wrote:Mon Dec 23, 2019 11:25 pm Well, I have lived in AK for 18 years. This will be the first time that I can remember that we haven't had a white Christmas. However, even though it is not white as I type, the forecast is calling for 1-3 inches tomorrow! How I hope they are right this time. Merry Christmas to everyone!

The forecast high here on Sunday is 37, but usually a few degrees warmer at my house. Forecast over at the ocean on Sunday is 20. I may consider going over there to escape. This will be the hottest it's been here for several years.

We've just been up to about 34C so I'm feeling a lot of sympathy for your Gordon. If you can get to a beach from some cooler sea breezes I'd say 'Go!' ;)

The actual high Sunday was 36, just short of the forecast 37, but still extreme for here. Even over at the ocean it got up to 27. The airport, which is across the valley from me also hit 36, which was a record for the date, but short of the all time record of 39 set in 2009.

Forecast for today is a cooler 31; still rather warm for here.

We had two very rainy years and this year started out with a lot of rain, but the last few months have been fairly dry.

34C and mostly sunny with a severe thunderstorm watch.

According to the forecast, we should soon have 27C and rain showers. I hope so...

Still 34C and mostly sunny now with a severe thunderstorm warning.

According to the forecast, in a few minutes we will have 27C and rain showers. I doubt it...

Torrential downpour early afternoon. Discovered minor roof leak, builders coming tomorrow morning. Can see stain on spare bedroom ceiling but crawling across the rafters isn't a good idea with my collection of artificial joints. I think it's the flashing on the chimney, naturally the side I can't see from the hatch. I was quite proud of myself getting up the ladder, last time I tried it, about 18 months ago, it didn't feel like a good idea. Still, only a coffee cup of water actually dripped through and I heard the plop when it had just started and hit a plastic bag so only the ceiling affected. Infamy, infamy I think to myself, someone's got it in for me.
