Gotta respect whichever nerd in the friend group said "you guys, we need to write all these down!" Reminds me of when I worked at a Girl Scout camp and one of the other counselors had meticulously kept a binder of every camp song she'd ever heard, including alternate versions. It's a folklorist's dream!
