Log Pages for Transcribing - apply here!

Post by AvastMH »

Welcome to the Shipyard of the Grampus for her voyage during 1891 - all of the log sections have been completed. Many thanks to our volunteers for their work.
There are many pages of logs on numerous ships still waiting to be transcribed. You can check for work using
this link to the list of ships featuring in this phase of the project.

Welcome to the log book of the Grampus 1891
If you would like to work on this log please
  • Leave a note in the next available reply section of this board below
  • A link to the workbook, for your transcriptions, will be provided to you as a personal message (PM)
  • Let us know if you would rather work in Excel, LibreCalc, or Google Sheets
  • The log must be transcribed by three different transcribers
Where to start once I have my log section and workbook?
Please ensure that you read these information pages before transcribing
1) Transcribing: capturing the log details
2) Transcribing: managing your recording workbook

Dates are in the format YYYYMMDD. Links to log book pages are shown in blue

18910416 18910523 Probably Arctic waters 'age': a curious spelling of 'edge'

Notes
  • This is a very short logbook
  • It does contain temperatures
  • There are reports of ice as she works close to the ice 'age': a curious spelling of 'edge'
  • Although there are no positions given we may be able to cross match this ship with other ships that report seeing her

Thank you for your help :D
