I frequently see the entry: At 8 crossed Top Gallt Yards
For example: June 18
However, I have yet to see an entry noting that they were uncrossed

On a decidedly less pleasant note....

Merid to 4pm
Board of Survey reported the cocks and nearly all the pipes of the water closets worn out. The Starb'd main pump pipe corroded through between the floor plate. The Board recommended, that the cocks to the water closets be renewed, the worn out pipes be replaced with others of larger diameter. The pump pipe below the floor plate should be renewed and made of Copper and both strainers and pipes overhauled.

We're looking for "Pollard Reef"
It appears to have been found:
Shipwreck in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands makes history – again
How an ill-fated sea captain and his ship inspired one of the world’s most famous writers
and
Lightning Strikes Twice: The Real Life Sequel to Moby Dick

You will !have fun with August, Michael.
We are looking for islands that don't exist or are not where they were reported to be or we are not where we think we are.

MIDWAY ISLANDS, lying 77 miles W. 1/2 N. of Pearl and Hermes reef, were discovered by Capt. Brooks of the Gambia in 1859, who took possession of them for the United States, and they have since been utilized by the Pacific Mail Company, who intended to form a depot here for their trans-Pacific steamers, instead of using Honolulu.*
This atoll, on which are two small islands, was examined and surveyed by Captain W. Reynolds, U.S.S. Lackawanna, in 1867, from whom the following information has been derived.

Board of Survey reported on the condition of starb'd Bower anchor as follows: "We find the starb'd Bower anchor has lost both flukes + a portion of shank. Cause of loss was owing partly to defective iron, and partly to having caught under a coral rock. At the time of weighing anchor, there was a strong swell on, and the ship surged heavily. Recommend that a new anchor be obtained."
Board of Survey reported on twelve (12) chairs and an Oilcloth in the Wardroom as follows: "the chairs are wholly unfit for use, they have all been repaired several times. Recommend that they be used for firewood and new ones obtained. The Oilcloth is wholly worn out from use, it was originally a poor one. Recommend that a new one be obtained and the old one be thrown overboard.
