Sad news - Kevin Wood

Post by philip.brohan »

Some of you will know that Kevin has been seriously ill for a long time with lung cancer.

This was kept under control by modern medicine, but it was always a matter of time, and his luck has run out. I have to tell you that he passed away on
Monday February 14tth, 2022, he was only 59.

It's a bitter day for us all, we've lost a friend, a colleague, and one of the people I most admired. He'll be deeply missed by us all, but particularly by his wife Kelly, and two sons Galen (age 12) and Ryan (age 15).

An online remembrance board has been set up at https://www.kudoboard.com/boards/tbeToke7 - please add your thoughts and memories of Kevin there.

What terrible, heart-breaking news!!! I was talking to him via Zoom only a few short weeks ago. He was an inspiration with his devotion to climate change. I will miss him.

Oh no! That's devastating news! I'm so sorry for his family. Far too young.

My deepest condolences to Kevin's wife and sons.

I don't know how to say how deeply sad I feel at this terrible news. Kevin was such a wonderful person to work with and a great inspiration. It is truly awful that he has passed at such a young age. What a hero for Arctic Ice.

I'm crying too much to say anything more now.

My condolences to his family and friends.
I really enjoyed his various contributions to the OW forums over the years. They made some of the weather entries and their consequences at sea so much more comprehensible to a landlubber like myself.
