October is complete.
First part of the month, brief stops in cities on the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Then an extended stay at Gibraltar with maintenance work done on the ship.

I need help with a course. I don't know whether this is a mistake by the log keeper or some rare notation. I've searched the Internet and can't find anything similar. From 5AM to 8AM the course entry looks like "EbyS1/2S2p". The event page doesn't have any course entries during this time to provide a clue.

I would just mark it as ExS1/2S. I have no idea what the 2p is, but he's just lying to with strong winds, and he's not going very far.
Re: Shenandoah (1873): links, questions, comments, coordination, ...
Okay. I just wanted to check whether you might know whether the 2p mattered before leaving it off.

November (Part 1) is complete. For the past eight days the ship has been slowly working its way from Gibraltar to Nice against strong winds.
Re: Shenandoah (1873): links, questions, comments, coordination, ...
On November 22, somewhere off the southern coast of Spain or France, the ship encountered the strongest winds I've seen in the logs I've transcribed. For a few hours it was in the range of 8-10.
The good news is that with the start of a new log on November 22, there was also a new log keeper. The previous one was terrible. W and N looked identical, as did 2 and 3, and 5 and 6.

The December 13 log page includes this entry concerning the barometer in the middle navigation section on the weather page.
